That doesn't work, as it returns results from the entire web, and not 
from the list. When you try to search the list archives 
(lists.rivendellaudio.org) Google finds nothing. Therefore, asking 
people to search the list, without a means to carry out the search, is 
counterproductive.

Besides, we're experiencing list drift here! The original problem is 
that the current sox version does not work with Rivendell. Or, more 
apropos, the current Rivendell requires an outdated version of sox. In 
order to keep Rivendell up to date with the present version of the 
utilities that it requires, it should be fairly easy to add an option to 
RD that would let the users select the sox version that they are using, 
or have Rivendell autodetect the installed sox version. I'm not on a 
Linux machine right now, but that should be as easy as calling sox with 
"sox -v" or "sox --version" to get that information.
